You are an Ambassador for Christ

Congratulations, Do you know that you are an ambassador for Christ. Here is the gospel proof in 2 Corinthians 5:17–21. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”.

Apostle Paul Called You an Ambassador for Christ

Apostle Paul Called You an Ambassador for Christ. Did you get what Apostle Paul Called You? He called you an Ambassador for Christ.

The bible mades it clear that once you accepted Christ as your Savior, you become a new person. That new changed person is now a citizen of Heaven and a representative and an ambassador basically in training for Christ. It becomes your time to prepare and learn as much as possible, so that you can share the Gospel with others and for some believers a time to simply be a living example of Christ’s love for humanity.

Apostle Paul never said that once you become saved that you are automatically a preacher, teacher, evangelist or a prophet. He said that you are an ambassador for Christ. You don’t have to preach, teach or evangelize to represent God’s love to the world. As a new babe in Christ you can start representing Christ by simply telling family and friends that you have accepted Christ as your Savior. Let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

It is no secret that everyone that you have met or will meet has already heard something about Christ. You might be the one that Jesus has appointed to be that special light that will inspirers them to accept Christ as their Savior.

Here is My Point

Let me use an agricultural metaphor to illustrate my point. By sharing your salvation with others, you become the farmer in their lives by planting the seeds of hope and salvation in someone’s heart and mind. Someone else can water the crop by building on what you said and someone else like a pastor, minister or a church member can reap the harvest by asking them to accept Christ (1 Corinthians 3:6-9). Listen to what is written in John 16:8 about the role of the Holy Spirit in Salvation. It says It takes the Holy Spirit to convict someone to accept Christ. Luke 15:10 says we all can rejoice with the angels when someone accepts Christ as their Savior.

Here’s what it means to be an Ambassador of Christ:

  1. Representation: Christians are called to see themselves as representatives of God. Just as an ambassador represents their country in a foreign land, believers represent Christ in the world.
  2. Behavior: As ambassadors, Christians are to behave accordingly, showcasing Christ’s character. Their actions, words, and attitudes should reflect the love, grace, and truth of Jesus.
  3. Message: The primary job of a Christian ambassador is to deliver Christ’s message. Christians are tasked with sharing the gospel—the good news of salvation through Jesus—so that others may come to know Him.
  4. Reconciliation: The central theme is reconciliation. Our focus is to urge people to be reconciled to God, inviting them to turn back to Him and experience His love and forgiveness.
